Learning Bytes – July 2020

Learning Bytes e-newsletter button

Welcome to the latest edition of Learning Bytes, your regular e-newsletter from Buckinghamshire Adult Learning.

The Department of Education now recognise the importance for adults to return to education from 13 July, so we are pleased to announce that we have planned some short Summer Schools for you this August.

The face-to-face and online Summer School courses include: Indian Cookery, French for Beginners (Intensive), Drawing and Painting, Yoga and Yoga with Alexander Technique, Pilates , Pottery, and Tai Chi. Missenden Abbey Walled Garden is due to open in early July and has agreed that we can offer our planned Practical Gardening Course at the site in August 2020.

We also have two online, live and interactive workshops in July, a Poetry Masterclass Workshop and Summer Vegetables, Fruit and Cut Flower Gardening.

Our team are working hard to plan a programme of courses starting this September for Term One. They will include a combination of face-to-face classroom teaching and online courses. To ensure the safety of our staff and learners, we are carefully planning the reopening of our adult learning centres so that social distancing measures and safety guidelines are in place.

For those of you who wish to continue online learning, we will have a number of online courses available which will be taught through Google Classroom. Our team will be available to help you set up a gmail address and access the online resources. We also have a number of useful how-to guides on our dedicated Google Classroom site.

Stay safe and we hope to see you soon.

Best wishes,
Buckinghamshire Adult Learning
